WiiM has another product for your consideration, and it’s another first for the company with the launch of the WiiM Bar.
It’s the first soundbar from the company as it continues to push forth in expanding its streaming line-up of devices.
Featuring a 3.0.2 Dolby Atmos spec, powered by a custom 8-driver array, it’s got its eyes set on the likes of Sonos and Bose in displacing them from the top of compact soundbar tree. Though it’s got to perform it order to do that.
Where it differs from other similarly priced bars is that, similarly to the WiiM Sound speaker, it comes with touch display for on-device control; with its glass-covered 2.1-inch display that allows you to see artwork, EQ settings, sources, presets and more from the comfort of tour living room.
As it joins the WiiM Sound, Sound Lite and Sub models, you can now create a full 5.1.2 home theatre system purely through WiiM products. They’ll be limited glossy black version at launch, followed by a matte black and white versions later.

Audio supported includes the aforementioned Dolby Atmos (as well Dolby’s TrueHD and Digital+ codecs), AC3, LPCM and in a slight surprise, there’s room for DTS audio and DTS:X, soundtracks that Sonos doesn’t support across any of its home cinema speakers.
Connection to a TV is through the WiiM Bar’s HDMI eARC, while you can stream music over Wi-Fi through 20+ services, which includes Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, Google Cast and Roon. Delve into the WiiM Home app and from there you can control playback, EQ and various other settings.
RoomFit will tailor the sound of the bar to your room but analysing its surroundings and compensating acoustically, while Clear Voice Mode makes use of AI powered skills to separate speech from the background audio, in real time, to make dialogue more audible.
A night mode reduces the impact of loud effects but preserves dialogue clarity for those who don’t want to disturb others at night.
If you’re heading to Vienna High End, you’ll be able to see the WiiM Bar at Hall 5, U01. For the rest of us, the wait continues until July when the WiiM Bar goes on sale for £449 / €499 / $479.
