As it’s High End Vienna this week, there’s plenty of news tumbling out of the event with hi-fi brands unveiling their latest products.
Cambridge Audio’s busy year is getting busier. After launch the L/RS speaker earlier in the year (we’re still waiting for the other products in the line-up), it’s got a new launch in the form of the Evo 300.
Cambridge describes the Evo 300 as a streaming amplifier “engineered for music lovers who want serious, high-end hi-fi performance and effortless power, without the complexity of a multi-box system.” All you need to do is add speakers to it.
You may be able to guess from the name as the Evo 300 delivers a fat 300W per channel from its Hypex NCOREx Class D amplification configured in a dual-mono layout. (we do love the names people come up with for hi-fi stuff).
There’s a balanced pre-amplifier stage and dedicated analogue volume controls that help “preserve stereo focus, dynamic range and detail” for each channel at all listening levels. There’s also a switch-mode power supply to ensure consistent performance “under sustained load” for what Cambridge is calling a step up in sound quality over the Evo 150 SE.

The word spaghetti that is ESS Sabre ES9038Q2M supports hi-res audio up to 32-bit/768kHz PCM, along with DSD512 for those who want to hear every bit of detail from their music recordings.
Streaming is taken care of by Cambridge’s StreamMagic Gen 4 platform that comes with native support for: Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Deezer, Roon Ready, UPnP, and there’s Internet radio over both Wi-Fi or through Ethernet connection. There’s a humongous 7.8-inch screen to keep track of album artwork and settings for this streaming amp.
Add Google Home, AirPlay 2, and Roon and you’ve got a healthy dose of streaming and smart platforms that the Cambridge Evo 300 can work with, and that’s not all! There’s HDMI eARC to plug into your TV, an MM phono stage for turntables, balanced XLR inputs, plus Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX HD streaming if you’re not too comfortable given people your Wi-Fi password…
All this power and spec doesn’t come cheap. You’ll be able to hear how the Cambridge Audio Evo 300 sounds from June 2026, and if you’re in Vienna for High End, it’s being demoed in room 2.79.
Pricing is £3499 / €3999 / $3999.
