Ultrahuman’s M2 Live is a smarter glucose monitor for metabolic tracking

Ultrahuman has unveiled M2 Live, a new version of its continuous glucose monitoring platform. This product promises to make metabolic tracking more accessible and considerably cheaper for users in the US.

The biggest change is what powers it. While the original M1 Live relied on Abbott’s FreeStyle Libre sensor, which required a prescription in the US, the new M2 Live uses Abbott’s over-the-counter Lingo sensor. Therefore, that removes one of the biggest barriers to entry. As a result, it should make it much easier for health-conscious consumers to start tracking their glucose levels.

Rather than positioning itself as a tool exclusively for people with diabetes, Ultrahuman is targeting the growing number of users interested in understanding how sleep, exercise, stress and diet affect their overall metabolic health.

The system works by combining data from the Lingo glucose sensor with information gathered through the Ultra-human app and devices such as the Ultrahuman Ring. By bringing those data points together, users can see how their body’s glucose response changes throughout the day. This also helps them see how lifestyle factors may be influencing it.

At the centre of the experience is Jade, Ultrahuman’s AI-powered coaching system. The company says Jade analyses glucose trends alongside activity, recovery and sleep data to generate a personalised metabolic score. Additionally, it offers recommendations designed to help users build healthier habits over time.

The launch also arrives at a time when continuous glucose monitors are becoming increasingly popular outside traditional medical use. Once largely reserved for diabetes management, CGMs have found a new audience among fitness enthusiasts and wellness-focused consumers. They appeal to those looking for deeper insights into how their bodies respond to food and exercise.

Pricing appears more approachable than before, too. A single M2 Live sensor, which lasts for 14 days, will cost $129. Meanwhile, access to the platform is available through a $99 monthly subscription.

Ultrahuman says M2 Live will launch in the US in the coming weeks. While continuous glucose monitoring remains a niche category compared to fitness trackers and smart rings, M2 Live could make the technology easier to try for anyone curious about the link between their daily habits and long-term metabolic health.
