Philips will launch the Fidelio L5 over-ear wireless headphones later in 2026, featuring real-time seal-detection tech that Philips hopes will keep external noises at bay all day.
Custom 36mm ceramic-coated dome drivers sit at the centre of the L5’s sound, paired with a woven silk suspension that Philips has designed for increased diaphragm rigidity without adding extra mass with Philips aiming for a sound that combines a balanced, natural sound with controlled bass, with warm but accurate mids and detailed highs.
The L5 pairs that sound profile with Philips’ most intelligent active noise control yet, built around its Adaptive Noise-Cancelling that responds to changing surroundings and the fit on your head, adjusting the ANC performance in response. An Adaptive Awareness Mode can also switch on in quieter settings to balance immersion with situational awareness.
A precision-engineered frame and soft protein leather headband distribute weight evenly across the head, while oval-shaped earcups and memory-foam cushions provide passive isolation for extended listening sessions throughout the day.
Touch-sensitive controls handle volume on the earcup, wear detection automatically pauses playback when the headphones come off, and the user can replace both the ear cushions and the rechargeable battery.
Bluetooth 6.0 with AAC and LC3 codec support provides a fast, stable connection, and multipoint pairing keeps two devices linked at once, while LDAC compatibility adds high-resolution wireless streaming and Auracast support opens access to compatible public broadcasts.
The L5 covers wired listening too, with lossless hi-resolution audio up to 96kHz/24-bit available over USB-C, while Spatial Audio modes in the Philips Headphones app reshape the soundstage for music and film.

Battery life reaches up to 60 hours, or up to 50 hours with noise-cancelling switched on, and a five-minute quick charge adds up to a further eight hours of playback.
For calls, a five-microphone system combines two beamforming microphones with an AI noise-reduction system that focuses on the user’s voice and helps deliver clear calls even in particularly busy environments.
The Philips Headphones app adds control over ANC settings, connected devices and firmware updates, while AI Neural EQ offers a single-control interface for tonal balance and Adaptive EQ adjusts bass and treble to match the music.
The L5 also incorporates GRS-certified recycled plastic and FSC-certified recycled packaging. The headphones go on sale October 2026 at €199.99 / £179.99.
