A new leak suggests Oura is about to refresh its smart ring lineup much sooner than expected, with the Oura Ring 5 potentially launching as early as next week.
According to a Reddit post that claims to show an internal company document, Oura plans to announce the new ring on 28 May. Pre-orders will open the same day, and shipments will begin on 4 June.
The document also includes renders of the ring and charging case, which appear to match earlier leaks from March, essentially reinforcing the idea that this design is the real deal.

Visually, the Oura Ring 5 doesn’t look like a dramatic reinvention. Instead, it appears slightly smaller and more refined than the Oura Ring 4 with a focus on comfort rather than a flashy redesign. That tracks with Oura’s broader approach over the years, preferring incremental improvements to radical hardware shifts.
Under the surface, it sounds like the hardware story is similarly conservative. The leaked details suggest the sensor setup remains largely unchanged. This means you still get the familiar mix of heart rate, SpO2, skin temperature, and accelerometer-based tracking. In other words, sleep tracking, stress insights, cycle tracking, and activity monitoring are expected to continue much as before.
Where things do get more interesting is efficiency. Rather than adding new sensors, Oura is reportedly focusing on improving how the existing hardware works, specifically accuracy and power consumption. That could mean better battery life and more consistent data. However, it would not fundamentally change what the ring actually measures.
One detail still missing is pricing. The Oura Ring 4 currently sits at around £349/$349. However, there’s no confirmation yet on whether the new model will stay in that range or creep higher.
As always with leaks like this, nothing is officially confirmed yet. But with the launch date supposedly just days away, it doesn’t look like we’ll be waiting long to find out if the Oura Ring 5 really is this close to release.
