These could be the perfect headphones for your kids – and they even have ANC

iClever is pitching the QuietShield Q950 as a serious rethink of kids’ headphones, going well beyond the usual “volume-limited with cartoon colours” formula most parents are used to.

At the centre of the Q950 is a strict 80dBA SafeSound limit, backed by TÜV Hearing Care Certification – a first for a children’s headphone, as we saw at Global Connect Show 2026.

Rather than simply capping volume, iClever frames the system as part of a broader approach to long-term hearing protection, aligning its tuning with WHO recommendations for safe listening levels for younger users. The goal is to reduce cumulative exposure to loud audio while keeping dialogue and music clear enough to avoid the temptation to crank up the volume in noisy environments.

To support that, the Q950 adds Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation rated at up to 35dB. In practical terms, this helps cut down on background noise during travel or commuting, letting children listen comfortably at lower volumes. Unusually for this category, ANC also works in wired AUX mode, making it more ideal for in-flight entertainment systems and school devices that still rely on physical connections.

Beyond audio safety, iClever has added a set of smart features that push the Q950 closer to adult-tier headphones. Wear Detection uses infrared sensors and accelerometers to automatically pause playback when users remove the headphones, and resumes playback when they put them back on. There’s also a Transparency Mode to let ambient sound in when needed, and a simple audio-sharing feature that lets two headphones connect to one device for shared listening.

Design-wise, the focus is clearly on durability and long-wear comfort rather than novelty. The Q950 weighs 238g and features a 10-level adjustable headband, soft protein-leather ear cushions, and 90-degree rotating earcups to reduce pressure during extended use. Internally, reinforced hinges and a high-strength POK frame form the build, and the company tests the frame for repeated twisting and daily wear. Materials are also fully non-toxic and compliant with major safety standards, including RoHS and REACH.

Battery life is another strong point, rated at up to 60 hours with ANC off and around 35 hours with it enabled. This puts it firmly in long-haul territory for travel and school use.

The Q950 doesn’t just aim to make kids’ headphones safer; it also aims to make them more self-managing through a combination of strict volume control, noise cancellation, and automated features. This reduces the burden on parents while encouraging healthier listening habits from the start.
