Canor Audio expands Performance series with two new models at High-End Vienna

Canor Audio has expanded its Performance series with two new hi-fi components, introducing the Verto D3 DAC and Asterion V3 phono preamplifier at High-End Vienna.

The new arrivals join the Virtus A3 integrated amplifier, giving Canor’s Performance range a more complete line-up for listeners building either digital or vinyl-focused systems.

The Verto D3 is a tube-based digital-to-analogue converter designed for users who want to pair modern high-resolution audio formats with a traditional valve output stage. It uses a fully balanced dual-mono design and supports PCM files up to 768kHz and native DSD512 playback.

Moreover, Canor has also equipped the DAC with galvanically isolated digital inputs. These inputs are intended to reduce electrical noise from connected source devices. A touchscreen integrated into the main control dial handles navigation and settings, while firmware updates can be installed via USB.

Alongside the DAC, Canor has unveiled the Asterion V3, a new tube phono preamplifier aimed at vinyl enthusiasts. It supports both moving magnet and moving coil cartridges, with extensive adjustment options allowing users to tailor performance to different turntable setups.

One notable feature is the ability to connect both an MM and MC cartridge simultaneously and switch between them without reconnecting cables. The Asterion V3 also uses a Lundahl step-up transformer for moving coil amplification. Additionally, it features a passive RIAA equalisation network.

Both components share Canor’s aluminium-and-steel chassis design and are available in either black or silver finishes. The Verto D3 is priced at £3799, while the Asterion V3 comes in at £4199.
