Pokémon Champions is set to arrive on iPhone and Android on 17 June, just a couple of months after its Nintendo Switch debut.
The free-to-play title will be available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and you can pre-register now. It continues The Pokémon Company International’s push toward cross-platform play, where users can jump between Switch and mobile using the same Nintendo account and keep their progress synced.
At its core, Pokémon Champions is built around competitive battles rather than exploration. There is a focus on online trainer matchups across platforms. That means mobile players will be able to battle against Switch users from day one, with no platform separation in matchmaking.
To mark the launch, The Pokémon Company is also running a limited-time in-game campaign from June 17 through September 2, 2026. During that period, players will receive Raichu, along with Raichunite X and Raichunite Y, delivered directly to their in-game mailbox. These rewards will be available across both Switch and mobile versions of the game.
It’s worth noting that Raichu can also be obtained through other in-game methods outside the campaign window. Meanwhile, the Mega Stones may eventually appear in the in-game shop at a later, unspecified date.
Although Pokémon Champions is free to download, it does include optional in-game purchases. This follows the model of many modern Pokémon spin-offs. However, the cross-platform setup is likely the bigger draw here, especially for players who want to switch between console and mobile without losing access to their teams or progression.
With pre-registration already live and launch just weeks away, Pokémon Champions shapes up as one of the most accessible entries in the series’ multiplayer-focused spin-offs.
