Xbox just announced 17 day-one games coming to Game Pass

Microsoft has given Xbox Game Pass subscribers a huge reason to get excited. It announced 17 new day-one games that will be available on the service as soon as they launch.

The announcement came during the latest Xbox Games Showcase. Microsoft packed in fresh trailers, surprise reveals and updates on some of its biggest upcoming titles. For Game Pass members, though, the headline news was the sheer number of new games heading to the subscription service. These new games are coming over the next couple of years.

Leading the charge are some seriously big names. Gears of War E-Day arrives on October 6, 2026, while Halo: Campaign Evolved follows on July 28, 2026. Meanwhile, the long-awaited RPG reboot Fable is now targeting a February 23, 2027 release. It will launch day one on Game Pass.

The lineup also includes Resonance: A Plague Legacy, Persona 4 Revival, Persona 6, State of Decay 3, Clockwork Revolution and Minecraft Dungeons II. These games give subscribers everything from action adventures and RPGs to co-op dungeon crawlers.

What stands out here is the scale of Microsoft’s commitment to day-one releases. Game Pass has always leaned heavily on first-party launches. However, adding 17 upcoming titles in a single showcase reinforces its position. It remains one of the strongest subscription services in gaming.

Several of the newly announced games are also heading to rival platforms including PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2. Even so, Game Pass subscribers will still be able to jump in from launch day. They will not have to pay extra beyond their membership fee.

With Halo, Gears, Fable, Persona and Spyro all now on the horizon, Microsoft’s subscription service is shaping up to have one of its strongest release schedules. This is the best in years.
