Google has started rolling out Pixel Camera 10.4 through the Play Store. However, this looks to be a fairly minor update rather than one packed with new features.
The release arrives alongside the June 2026 Pixel Drop and is gradually becoming available to more Pixel owners.
While there’s nothing noticeably new to see inside the app, the update appears to focus on stability. Google recently addressed several camera-related bugs in its latest software release.
According to Google’s June update notes, the company fixed a handful of issues affecting the camera experience across supported Pixel devices. These include a stability bug that could cause camera-related system crashes on the Pixel 9 through Pixel 10a. There is also a fix for the camera app freezing while changing zoom levels during video recording on the Pixel 10 series. In addition, another issue prevented the camera service from crashing unexpectedly on devices ranging from the Pixel 6 to the Pixel 10a.
That makes the timing of Pixel Camera 10.4 fairly unsurprising. Rather than introducing new shooting modes or interface changes, the latest version appears to complement those fixes. It also aims to improve overall reliability.
It’s also worth keeping expectations in check. Google already gave Pixel Camera a significant overhaul last October with version 10.1, which introduced its Material 3 Expressive redesign. With that refresh still relatively recent, another major visual update wasn’t expected this time around.
Instead, Google’s next big camera update will likely arrive alongside the Pixel 11 later this year. New camera features often debut with Google’s latest hardware. Later, they gradually make their way to older Pixel devices through future Pixel Drops.
For now, Pixel Camera 10.4 is simply rolling out more widely through the Play Store. If it hasn’t appeared on your device yet, that’s normal. Google says the rollout is happening in stages, so it may take a little longer before the update reaches every eligible Pixel.
