Fresh ‘n Rebel has released the Clam Ace 2 over-ear headphones with adaptive hybrid noise cancelling and 100 hours of battery life.
The Clam Ace 2 succeeds the original Clam Ace and carries three headline additions: a new My Sound App, a Personal Sound feature developed with Audiodo, and Adaptive Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling that responds to different environments.
Inside the My Sound App, users can adjust equaliser settings, remap button controls, fine-tune Active Noise Cancelling levels, set a maximum volume cap, and switch on a battery-saving mode to extend playtime.
Call quality also benefits from this level of control, with five microphones handling Active Noise Cancellation during work calls and voice notes to keep the wearer’s voice clear on both ends of a conversation.
The same app also hosts Personal Sound by Audiodo, a feature that runs a short hearing test across multiple frequencies and builds a personal sound profile to boost or reduce specific tones for greater clarity.
Beyond personalising the sound itself, the Adaptive Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling lets users dial the level of blocked-out sound up or down directly within the My Sound App to suit different surroundings, such as an office, a train, or a busy street.
An Ambient Sound Mode sits alongside this and keeps wearers aware of what is happening around them, a setting suited to commuting, travelling or simply keeping an ear out for children nearby.
Calls and music also hold up in poor weather, since Wind Noise Cancelling works alongside dual ENC microphones to keep both audio and conversations clear regardless of conditions outside, whether wearers are exercising outdoors or taking calls on a windy commute.
Beyond noise control, the Clam Ace 2 also targets everyday listening quality, with powerful bass, crisp highs, and more than 100 hours of playtime available across four colour options to suit different tastes.
At £89.99 from Argos, the Clam Ace 2 costs less than rival over-ear headphones with comparable noise cancelling and app-based tuning, and it sits squarely in the mid-range of the UK headphone market.
Fresh ‘n Rebel has not indicated whether further colourways or bundle options will follow, though the Clam Ace 2 is already on sale through Argos in the UK as the first retail listing for this second-generation model.
