Goldmund has introduced a new flagship amplifier that pushes the company’s high-end audio ambitions even further.
The new Telos 9800 delivers up to 1,560W into 8 ohms and arrives with an entirely redesigned amplification platform. For the first time, this platform separates the power supply from the amplification stage.
Designed, engineered and assembled in Switzerland, the Telos 9800 sits at the top of Goldmund’s amplifier range. Rather than simply increasing output power, Goldmund has designed the new architecture to improve signal integrity and stability while enhancing loudspeaker control under demanding listening conditions.
The biggest change is its two-unit design. Instead of housing everything in just a single chassis, Goldmund has physically separated the power supply and amplification sections. This allows each to operate independently while reducing electrical interference between the two.
Power comes from a proprietary system that combines 9.7kVA of transformer capacity with what Goldmund describes as its largest capacitor bank to date, which stores 648mF of stored energy.
The amplifier features newly developed power boards, custom transformers and bespoke capacitors. All these can provide faster current delivery and greater stability when driving challenging speakers.

The Telos 9800 is fully symmetrical from input to output and incorporates galvanic isolation between the power supply and amplification stages to minimise unwanted electrical noise. Goldmund also says the amplifier remains stable with speaker loads as low as 1 ohm. Furthermore, built-in protection systems are designed to ensure long-term reliability.
Alongside the internal redesign, the Telos 9800 introduces a fresh industrial design. Developed with designer Cécile Barani, the amplifier combines precision-machined aluminium panels with a dual-chassis layout. It features a new digital interface and subtle gold detailing that reflects the company’s premium positioning.
Goldmund says the changes are designed to deliver more than raw power. The amplifier offers improved dynamic range and greater control over complex musical passages; enhancing detail retrieval, and helping recordings sound closer to their original performance.
Goldmund has yet to announce pricing and availability, but knowing Goldmund, the Telos 9800 will target the high-end audiophile market. If you have to ask how much it costs, then you probably can’t afford it.
