DJI has launched its latest 360-degree camera, and the Osmo 360 II looks like a serious upgrade for creators who want high-resolution footage without carrying a larger camera rig.
The new model combines a 1-inch square HDR sensor with 8K/60fps 360-degree recording, alongside improved low-light performance and replaceable lenses.
The Osmo 360 II is DJI’s second-generation 360-degree camera, building on the company’s experience with its Osmo Action cameras, Ronin gimbals and panoramic imaging technology. The headline feature is its new 1-inch square HDR sensor, which DJI says increases sensor utilisation by 25% while delivering up to 14.5 stops of dynamic range.
That combination is designed to make a difference in difficult lighting conditions. DJI has also introduced its AI SuperNight 2.0 noise-reduction system, while the camera’s 2.4μm pixels help it capture cleaner footage at night. For fast-moving subjects, the camera can record 8K 360-degree video at up to 60fps.
There’s plenty more for creators to play with. The Osmo 360 II can capture 120MP HDR 360-degree photos and 16K timelapses, while its 8K/120fps Vortex mode provides high-resolution slow-motion footage. DJI also supports 10-bit colour and its D-Log M profile across video formats, giving more flexibility when editing footage.
The camera is also built with outdoor shooting in mind. It can operate in temperatures as low as -20°C and is waterproof to 10 metres without additional protection. With the optional Invisible Waterproof Case, that depth increases to 50 metres. The camera weighs 183g and includes 105GB of built-in storage.
DJI has also addressed one of the bigger risks with 360-degree cameras: damaged lenses. Both lenses use an ultra-hard optical film and can be replaced if they are scratched or damaged.
Battery life reaches up to 100 minutes when recording at 8K/30fps, while fast charging can take it to 80% in 22 minutes. An optional Battery Extension Rod adds up to 180 minutes of additional runtime.
The Osmo 360 II will make its global offline debut at IFA 2026, running from September 4 to 8. UK and EU availability will be announced later in September. Pricing starts at £509 for the Standard Combo and £639 for the Adventure Combo.
