Samsung is expanding One UI 9 beyond its latest foldables, with the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, S26 Ultra and Galaxy S26 FE now getting the latest version of its software.
One UI 9 first arrived on the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8, but the update is now making its way to the company’s flagship candybar models. That means owners of the Galaxy S26 range will now benefit from tools like My FanCam, which automatically crops video around a chosen person as they move through the frame.
That could be particularly handy at concerts, as users can now record the whole stage in a wide shot and let My FanCam follow your favourite member, while choosing the aspect ratio you want afterwards.
There’s plenty more happening under the surface too. Samsung has added new generative and editable cards to Now Brief, giving users more control over the information shown in their daily summaries. Now Nudge can also pull personal context from across the Galaxy ecosystem and suggest useful actions, such as bringing reservation details into a text conversation.
Interpreter gets an update too, with a new Thread View that makes translated conversations easier to follow by keeping earlier messages in view. Samsung also says Conversation Mode translations are now faster.
Voice Recorder has received a more practical upgrade, with its summaries presented in a clearer structure that can include headings and tables. Finally, Document Scan is also getting smarter, making it easier to capture curved book pages and folded corners without needing to make as many manual adjustments.
Samsung has also included several security-focused additions. Security Brief can alert users to malware and other security issues, while Privacy Alerts provide additional warnings around privacy concerns.
The update comes a little over a month after Samsung’s latest foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8, started shipping. It is now available on the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, S26 Ultra and Galaxy S26 FE, bringing several of the foldables’ newer software tricks to Samsung’s wider phone lineup.
