Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra doesn’t look set to stray far from last year’s design. A fresh leak gives us a better look at the upcoming tablet from the sides and rear, and so far, there’s little to suggest Samsung is planning a major visual overhaul.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra first appeared in leaked images back in August, showing off a design that already looked very familiar. The latest images, shared by Evan Blass on X, fill in some of the gaps with additional side and rear views, but they largely reinforce what we saw before: the tablet appears to carry over the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra’s overall build.
That includes Samsung’s newer camera notch design, which arrived with the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. The rear camera cutout takes on a teardrop shape, helping to reduce how much space it takes up on the tablet. The S Pen setup also appears unchanged, with the stylus charging from the top-right corner when the tablet is held in landscape orientation.
There’s nothing inherently wrong with sticking with a familiar design, especially when tablets have settled into fairly predictable shapes over the years. But Samsung has now kept this general approach around for some time, and the latest leak doesn’t suggest any big changes to areas such as the bezels or battery.
Of course, this is only what we can see from the outside. The leaked images don’t reveal what’s happening under the hood, so there could still be meaningful upgrades to the display, processor, battery or other hardware that haven’t surfaced yet.
For now, though, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra looks remarkably similar to its predecessor. That makes the upcoming tablet more of an evolution than a visual rethink, at least based on these latest images.
Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra on October 7, so there isn’t too long left before we find out whether the biggest changes are hiding beneath that familiar exterior.
