Loewe’s we.BOOST home cinema system now supports 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos with the addition of a wireless centre speaker.
The new speaker connects wirelessly through the existing we.BOOST Dongle, with a USB software update enabling current systems to recognise and integrate the additional channel without any extra cabling.
The expansion takes the system from a 4.1.2 configuration to a full 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos setup, the dedicated centre channel brings more emphasis to dialogue clarity than was possible through the previous configuration.
Dolby Atmos relies on up-firing drivers to bounce sound off the ceiling to create vertical channels, a technique the existing we.BOOST satellites already use and one the new centre speaker complements. The wider we.BOOST system pairs four wireless active satellite speakers with a subwoofer for 720 watts of combined power.
Connection to a TV is through HDMI eARC, while users can benefit from Bluetooth streaming and a 3.5mm stereo line-in to connect other sources. Loewe also allows for acoustic fine-tuning that lets owners adjust each speaker to suit the shape and contours of their room to optimise the delivery of sound from the speakers.
Installation stays simple thanks to an included wall mount that lets the centre speaker sit above or below a wall-mounted screen without the need to purchase a bracket.
The we.BOOST centre speaker is available now for £299 / €299, arriving in a single ash grey finish that matches the existing satellite speakers and subwoofer.
