Winner: Fairphone 6 Plus

A lot goes into thinking about which phone we buy – how good is the screen? What’s the performance like? Is the camera good enough? But do we think about how good a phone’s repairability is?

That’s what really sets the latest Fairphone out from the crowd. This is a phone with sustainability at its core. Fairphone is offering a bunch of spare parts for everything from its USB-C port to the camera modules, loudspeaker, rear covers, earpiece, battery, screen and SIM-SD combo tray. If something breaks on this device, chances are it can be replaced.

This is great, and it’s clear the 6 Plus is a phone designed for the long term – not to be used and quickly disposed of once the battery begins to fail.

Our reviewer had this to say: “The Fairphone 6 Plus is a repairability champion first and a performance phone second, backing up its screwdriver-friendly design.”

Fairphone 6 Plus Review

The Fairphone 6 Plus is a repairability champion first and a performance phone second, backing up its screwdriver-friendly design with a genuinely bright, sharp OLED screen and solid battery life. Its Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip is a step up from its predecessor but still trails several similarly priced mid-rangers, and the camera setup is held back by the absence of a telephoto lens.
