This is the iPhone Duo’s battery capacity

Apple has finally revealed the battery capacity of its first foldable iPhone, with a newly published EU energy label confirming that the iPhone Duo packs a 4,883mAh battery. That’s slightly larger than the battery inside the iPhone 18 Pro, although it falls short of the Pro Max.

The official figure also confirms an earlier leak suggesting Apple would use a dual-cell battery design, combining a 2,962mAh cell and a smaller 1,921mAh cell.

Together, they deliver the reported 4,883mAh capacity, with the two-cell arrangement accommodating the phone’s foldable design. Since the iPhone Duo is an eSIM-only device worldwide, the same battery capacity should apply across all markets, rather than varying between models with and without a physical SIM tray.

For comparison, iFixit previously found that the eSIM-only iPhone 18 Pro has a 4,288mAh battery, while the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max packs 5,567mAh. That puts the Duo comfortably between Apple’s two flagship models in terms of capacity, although its larger folding display could make battery life a different story.

The figures have already sparked discussion on Reddit, with some users pointing out that the Duo’s capacity is close to that of the previous iPhone 17 Pro Max. Others believe Apple’s more efficient processor and the ability to use the smaller outer display could help offset the additional power demands of the larger inner screen.

While the 4,883mAh capacity gives us a clearer idea of what to expect, it doesn’t necessarily tell us how long the iPhone Duo will last between charges. That will depend on how efficiently Apple manages power across its two displays, something that will become clearer once the device undergoes real-world battery testing.
