Tado just added one of its most requested smart home features

Starting summer 2026, Tado users will be able to control multiple homes or offices from a single account. They can manage up to five properties through the same app at no extra cost.

The update means you won’t need separate logins for different locations anymore. Instead, you can switch between homes and adjust heating or cooling remotely. For example, you can warm up a holiday house before arrival or turn things down at your main home as you leave.

The feature also opens up more practical use cases. You could manage the heating in a relative’s home without them needing to interact with the system. Alternatively, you could keep tabs on a small office while you’re away. It’s a simple idea, but one that makes Tado’s ecosystem feel a lot more flexible.

There are a few key upgrades tied to the rollout. Multi-home support introduces role management, allowing one admin to oversee everything while other users get limited access. It also adds cross-generation compatibility, meaning you can run newer Tado X devices alongside older V3+ systems in different properties. You manage all of this within the same account. It also includes cooling support, letting you control Smart AC in one location and heating in another.

Tado is also expanding its subscription offering alongside the update. A single AI Assist or Auto-Assist plan — priced at €3.99 per month or €29.99 per year — will now cover every home linked to your account. That includes features like geofencing, open-window detection, and adaptive heating. The system automatically adjusts temperatures as you move between properties.

There is a small difference depending on whether you subscribe. Paid users can jump between homes instantly, while free users will need to sign in and out when switching locations.

Tado says the feature has been high on its community wishlist, and it’s easy to see why. Smart heating already works well in a single home. But for anyone juggling multiple spaces, this update finally brings everything under one roof.
