Fellow is finally bringing its striking Espresso Series 1 machine to the UK this May, giving British coffee fans a chance to get their hands on one of the most design-focused home espresso machines we’ve seen in years.
The San Francisco coffee brand — best known for its minimalist kettles and grinders — is positioning the Espresso Series 1 as a café-grade machine. It doesn’t demand barista-level expertise, but honestly, the first thing most people will probably notice is how good it looks.
The machine combines Fellow’s clean industrial design with a surprisingly compact footprint that fits beneath standard kitchen cupboards. At the same time, it still packs in features normally reserved for commercial setups. It’ll launch in Sesame, Red, Woodland, and Black, with optional walnut, maple, or plastic handles. This makes it feel more like a premium kitchen appliance than a traditional bulky espresso machine.

Underneath the polished exterior, though, there’s some serious coffee tech. The headline feature is Fellow’s new Boosted Boiler System, which uses three independent heating elements to keep brewing temperatures stable to within a single degree, and it heats up in around two minutes.
Fellow has also added full pressure profiling across pre-infusion, extraction, and ramp-down. This gives experienced users much finer control over how shots are pulled. At the same time, the machine tries to avoid intimidating newcomers with on-screen guidance and app-based presets available on both iOS and Android.
The connected features also let users save and share espresso recipes, leaning into the increasingly social side of home coffee brewing. There’s even a Smart Steam Wand with automatic temperature detection and auto-purge functionality. This helps simplify milk steaming for flat whites and cappuccinos.
The UK launch arrives at a pretty fitting moment, too. Fellow is debuting the machine during the London Coffee Festival, alongside demonstrations and tastings at Harrods. Harrods will act as the company’s retail launch partner throughout May. Fellow is also partnering with Espresso Solutions and Square Mile Coffee Roasters for pop-up events tied to the launch.
Jake Miller, Founder of Fellow, said the company wanted the UK debut to reflect Britain’s “world-class” coffee culture, with a focus on hands-on experiences rather than simply putting the machine on shelves.
And judging by the Espresso Series 1, Fellow clearly wants this to be more than just another espresso machine launch. It’s aiming for something that blends speciality coffee precision with the kind of kitchen design people actually want left out on the counter.
