Sivga’s Lyrebird in-ears offer “high-end wired audio” for £150

Sivga has announced a new pair of wired in-ear monitors aimed at audiophiles who want high-end sound without venturing into flagship pricing.

Called the Lyrebird, the new hybrid IEMs combine four different driver technologies with premium materials. They arrive today for £149 / $149 / €167.

While plenty of budget IEMs now pack multiple drivers, Sivga is pitching the Lyrebird as a more refined option. It pairs its acoustic design with handcrafted finishes and an upgraded cable straight out of the box.

The Lyrebird uses a quad-driver hybrid setup, with each driver handling a different part of the frequency range. A 10mm polymer composite dynamic driver takes care of the bass.

Meanwhile, a balanced armature driver is responsible for vocals. A micro planar driver delivers smoother treble, while a 9.2mm multilayer piezoelectric ceramic driver completes the setup. Sivga says this driver can reveal finer high-frequency detail and create a wider, more spacious soundstage.

On the design front each earpiece features a handcrafted stabilised wood faceplate, meaning no two pairs share the same grain pattern. Meanwhile, the housing itself is made from CNC-machined aviation-grade aluminium alloy. According to Sivga, the resin-treated wood also helps reduce unwanted resonance alongside improving durability.

The package included in the box is a hybrid cable combining Furukawa OFC, silver-plated copper and gold-plated silver-copper conductors. There is also a 4.4mm balanced connector for compatible portable music players and headphone amplifiers. The cable uses a standard 0.78mm 2-pin detachable connection. Therefore, it is easy to swap for aftermarket alternatives.

Other specifications include a 20Hz-20kHz frequency response, 108dB sensitivity and 14Ω impedance. This makes the Lyrebird relatively easy to drive from dedicated audio players and portable DACs.

Sivga also bundles a Crazy Horse leather carry case and a selection of silicone ear tips, so buyers have everything they need.
