Presto Music is now available directly through the Focal & Naim app. This gives owners of compatible Naim streaming products access to the service’s high-resolution classical, jazz and audiophile catalogue.
The integration, which rolls out through firmware updates from 6 August, brings Presto Music to Naim’s connected streaming range. This includes its Mu-so wireless speakers, Uniti all-in-one players and dedicated streamers.
For listeners who already use Presto Music, the update means they can send music directly to compatible Naim hardware. They do not have to rely on a separate connection or workaround.
A better fit for classical and jazz fans
Presto Music is a specialist streaming service focused heavily on classical and jazz. Its catalogue is designed around discovery rather than simply providing access to mainstream playlists.
The service also highlights its Fair Play initiative. This initiative pays artists based on the number of seconds their music is streamed rather than per track.
The Focal & Naim integration retains much of Presto Music’s existing discovery experience, including editorial content, recommendations and information about what is playing. Users can browse through the dedicated Presto Music app before handing playback over to a Naim device.
On top of that, Presto Music says the Focal & Naim app will also provide access to the service as one of its integrated streaming options. There will be playback controls and detailed “Playing Now” information.
The integration has been developed between Presto Music and Naim Audio’s R&D team. The companies aim to combine Naim’s streaming hardware with Presto’s focus on high-resolution classical and jazz listening.
Presto Music is already integrated with other hi-fi platforms, including BluOS, Eversolo and Audirvāna. This makes the Naim integration another step in the service’s expansion across dedicated audio hardware.
