Retroid Pocket Duo Lite gets a more powerful upgrade that makes it an easy buy

Retroid has given its dual-screen handheld another upgrade, and the new Pocket Duo Lite Plus could be the sweet spot in the lineup. It keeps the same design as the Pocket Duo Lite but swaps in a much more powerful processor, doubles the RAM and adds a handful of newer connectivity features.

The Retroid Pocket Duo Lite Plus is the third model in the Pocket Duo range, arriving less than two weeks after the Pocket Duo and Pocket Duo Lite. Retroid says the new model was created in response to feedback from fans who wanted more performance from the Lite.

Underneath, the biggest change is the processor. The Lite uses Qualcomm’s Dragonwing QCS6125, an IoT version of the Snapdragon 665, while the Lite Plus gets the Qualcomm Dragonwing Q-7790, the IoT version of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 used in the regular Pocket Duo.

The upgrade doesn’t stop there. The Lite Plus comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, compared with the Lite’s 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB configurations. It also gets 27W fast charging, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4 and DisplayPort support for 4K at 60Hz, while running the newer Android 16.

The rest of the hardware remains largely unchanged, including the Pocket Duo Lite’s design and dual-screen setup. Retroid hasn’t provided further hardware differences in the announcement, so this is essentially the Lite with a considerably more capable platform underneath.

The Pocket Duo Lite Plus is available to pre-order now in 16-bit, Black, Clear Purple, GC and Ice Blue. It costs $219, although Retroid is offering a limited-time discount. Enter the code LITEPLUS at checkout to bring the price down to $199. The code is valid until October 31, 2026, with shipping scheduled to begin in mid-November.

That puts it just $10 above the 12GB RAM version of the Pocket Flip 2, which recently received a permanent price cut to $189. The Flip 2 has more RAM and an AMOLED display, but the Duo Lite Plus counters with a more powerful and efficient processor, two displays, a larger battery and Android 16.

For anyone already considering the Lite, the extra $10 for the Plus makes the new model particularly interesting.
