Google is making it a bit easier to snag a cheaper hotel this summer.
The company has added individual hotel price tracking to Search. This lets users follow price changes for specific stays, and not just entire cities.
The feature is live now and works similarly to Google’s long-standing flight tracking tool. So if you have got your eye on a particular hotel, you can toggle tracking and receive email alerts whenever the price changes for your selected dates.
It is actually a step up from last year’s broader hotel tracking. As last year’s version only covered price trends across a destination rather than a single property.
On a desktop, you’ll need to head to Google’s hotel search results and filter by your travel dates and location. Then scroll through the listing to find a “Track this hotel” toggle under the Overview or Prices tab. On mobile, the option sits under the Prices tab as well. It’s tucked beneath booking details. There’s still a “Track all hotels” option if you’d rather cast a wider net.
For now, the feature is available to signed-in users in English and Spanish. Google says it’s rolling out globally starting today.
The update fits into a broader push from Google to turn Search into a more complete travel planning tool. Alongside hotel tracking, the company is highlighting features like AI-powered itinerary building in Search, Ask Maps for trip suggestions, and flight tracking updates in Google Wallet.
It’s a small tweak on paper, but a useful one in practice. It is especially true if you’re waiting for prices to dip before locking in a booking. Instead of repeatedly checking listings, Google now does the watching for you.
