Norwegian smart garden brand Auk has refreshed its indoor growing system with the Mini 2, adding app-controlled lighting, expanded water capacity, and a companion app alongside a redesigned chassis made from recycled aluminium, recycled polymer, and FSC-certified wood.
The companion app introduces a holiday mode that slows plant growth automatically while users are away, addressing one of the more practical limitations of indoor herb growing for people who travel regularly and cannot maintain a consistent watering schedule during absences.
Compared to the original Auk Mini, which required manual light adjustment and delivered a three-litre water reservoir lasting only a few days, the Mini 2 adds app-controlled lighting, automated holiday mode, and a reservoir that now runs for up to 19 days between refills.
Auk claims the Mini 2 delivers up to 20% better plant growth than its predecessor, with new custom pot configurations for chillies and tomatoes expanding the range of plants the system can support beyond the herbs and salad leaves that typically suit compact indoor hydroponic setups.
The recycled material construction places the Mini 2 within a growing category of kitchen and home appliances where sustainability credentials have become a purchasing consideration alongside performance, with FSC-certified wood components adding to a build specification that distinguishes it from most plastic-bodied competitors in the indoor garden segment.
