Pro-Ject Audio Systems has expanded its streaming range with two compact products designed to bring network audio and wireless connectivity to existing hi-fi setups without requiring a full system rebuild.
The new Stream Box E streamer and Wireless Box E speaker module launch as part of a growing WiiM OS-powered ecosystem.
The Stream Box E targets owners of traditional amplifier-based systems who want to add streaming without replacing their existing hardware, functioning as both a network streamer with access to Amazon Music, Qobuz, Spotify Connect, and TIDAL Connect, and as a digital preamp with volume control and an RCA analogue input for connecting a turntable or other external source.
That analogue input also allows vinyl playback to be distributed across compatible devices within the Pro-Ject ecosystem, a detail that reflects the Austrian brand’s heritage as primarily a turntable manufacturer now building a streaming platform designed to accommodate the analogue sources its core audience already owns.
Both products run WiiM OS and integrate with Pro-Ject’s dedicated Home app, a platform pairing that keeps setup and day-to-day control within a single interface rather than requiring separate configuration tools for the streaming and multi-room layers of the system.
The Wireless Box E takes a different approach to the same problem, attaching directly to the rear speaker terminals of passive loudspeakers via 4mm banana plugs and delivering up to 25W into 8 ohms or 50W into 4 ohms, effectively converting a wired passive speaker into a self-contained wireless receiver without requiring long cable runs across a room or between floors.
Both products join the Uni Box S3 as part of Pro-Ject’s WiiM OS streaming platform, which launched in summer 2025 and supports multi-room playback across compatible devices within the same network, with each product operating independently or as part of a shared system depending on the user’s setup.
The Stream Box E is available now in black or silver, priced at £159, while the Wireless Box E launches in late May at £199 per unit, with a stereo pair requiring two units.
