Fyne Audio has entered the active bookshelf speaker market with the Cubitt 5, a stereo system that packs 240W of amplification, a built-in phono stage, and HDMI eARC into a compact cabinet priced at £549 per pair.
The Cubitt 5 builds its audio foundation around Fyne’s 5-inch IsoFlare point-source driver, a coaxial design that radiates sound from a single point in space to produce a stereo image that remains consistent across a wide listening area; with FyneFlute surround technology reducing coloration at the driver’s periphery to improve midrange clarity.
The front-firing bass port also allowing close-to-wall placement without low-frequency loss.

Internal amplification, crossover, and digital signal processing eliminate the need for external components, and the system supports 24-bit/96kHz high-resolution audio with Bluetooth 5.0 (aptX HD and AAC) onboard for wireless streaming.
The culmination of two years of research and development, Anji Sosna, Fyne Audio’s managing director, notes that the system had to be platform-agnostic and deliver true stereo performance rather than the single-point streaming experience most active speakers at this price point offer.

The connectivity suite also covers analogue and optical digital inputs for legacy source equipment, a built-in phono stage for direct turntable connection, HDMI eARC to connect to a TV, and a subwoofer output for those who want additional bass for home cinema use or in larger rooms.
Physical controls are via a compact remote that docks on the rear of one speaker when not in use.
The Cubitt 5 is available in five contemporary colours that are designed to integrate into living rooms, bedrooms, and desk setups alike; a choice of Midnight Black, Pearl Titanium, Olive Green, Pebble Grey and Arctic White.
Named after Cubitt Court, Fyne Audio’s new Glasgow headquarters and manufacturing facility, the Cubitt 5 goes on sale from June 2026, priced at £549 / €649 / $749.
