Sendy Audio has launched the Apollo Pro, its new open-back planar magnetic headphone. It pushes its high-end driver technology into a lighter, more comfort-focused design.
A custom 78mm planar magnetic driver built around a nano-scale composite diaphragm sits at its core. This diaphragm measures under 800 nanometres thick.
Sendy Audio says this ultra-thin diaphragm can improve response speed and detail retrieval, enabling the headphone to deliver a more open, fast and highly resolved sound signature across music, film and gaming content.
Alongside the driver system, the Apollo Pro uses Sendy Audio’s Electron Beam Evaporation Deposition process. This process applies aluminium circuitry directly onto the diaphragm surface.
The goal here is to improve vibration control and maintain more consistent frequency behaviour, which in turn, this should contribute to clearer separation and more controlled layering in complex tracks.
Comfort appears to be a major focus for this generation. The Apollo Pro weighs 354g, placing it in a relatively light category for planar magnetic over-ear headphones. The design reduces weight and pairs it with an open-back structure intended to enhance spatial perception. At the same time, the velvet ear pads and a lamb leather headband reduce heat build-up during longer listening sessions.

The design language also leans heavily into premium materials and visual identity. There are zebrawood earcups, a sunburst-pattern metal mesh, and CNC-machined aviation-grade aluminium components used throughout the frame. A flexible adjustment system helps the headphones sit more naturally on different head shapes, reinforcing long-term wearability rather than short bursts of critical listening.
A detachable balanced cable system handles connectivity using Furukawa OFC, silver-plated copper, and gold-plated copper conductors, while additional shielding reduces interference and preserves signal integrity.
Out of the box, users get 4.4mm balanced connectivity alongside 3.5mm and 6.35mm adapters.
Pricing for the headphones is £449 / $449 / €499, with the Sendy Audio Apollo Pro on sale now.
