These are the first iPhone Ultra 2 and iPhone Air 3 details we’ve seen

Apple’s first foldable iPhone is not even official yet, but a new leak suggests its follow-up may already be moving forward.

The claim comes from leaker Digital Chat Station, who said on Weibo that Apple has already confirmed development of the second-generation iPhone Ultra. That is the name now being increasingly linked to Apple’s long-rumoured foldable iPhone.

The first iPhone Ultra is still expected to launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, possibly in September. Whether it goes on sale at the same time as those phones is still unclear.

What makes the leak interesting is that Apple may already be looking past that first foldable. Digital Chat Station claims the iPhone Ultra 2 has already been confirmed, and that it will likely use the same displays as the first model.

That does not reveal much about final specs, pricing or launch timing, but it does suggest Apple may not be treating its foldable iPhone as a one-off test.

Things appear to be less settled for the iPhone Air 3. Apple is believed to be working on the iPhone Air 2, which could add a second rear camera and launch in spring 2027. However, according to the same leak, tooling for the iPhone Air 3 has not started yet.

Apple may simply be holding off until it sees how the iPhone Air 2 performs. Since the Air line is still fairly new, that would not be too surprising.

As always, none of this has been confirmed by Apple. Digital Chat Station has shared accurate details about unreleased devices before, but early Apple roadmap leaks can still change before anything reaches store shelves.

For now, Apple’s foldable plans appear to have momentum beyond the first model. The iPhone Air line, meanwhile, may still need to prove that ultra-thin phones are more than just a short-term experiment.
