LG has partnered with Prime Video to introduce a Creator Original Picture Mode for its 2026 OLED television range.
That mode arrives alongside the streaming premiere of Masters of the Universe, the live-action adaptation of the He-Man franchise directed by Travis Knight, giving LG a high-profile blockbuster to showcase the new picture mode.
The film follows Prince Adam returning to Eternia after fifteen years to find his home ruled by Skeletor, prompting him to join Teela and Duncan, known as Man-At-Arms, to reclaim his destiny as He-Man.
Creator Original Picture Mode and processing hardware
Creator Original Picture Mode is exclusive to the 2026 LG OLED W6, G6 and C6 series, and it hands studios direct control over shadow detail, colour balance, noise reduction and motion handling rather than simply disabling post-processing as Filmmaker Mode does.
That level of control is handled by LG’s Alpha 11 4K Gen 3 processor, which uses 12-bit image processing and enhanced dynamic range control alongside Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support to preserve detail from the original source signal.
Voice-activated Magic Remote feature
Alongside the picture mode, LG’s Magic Remote gains a voice command inspired by the film’s catchphrase, letting owners say “I have the power” to bring up Masters of the Universe and its related Prime Video content instantly.
The feature works on LG Smart TVs running webOS 23 or later and recognises the phrase in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish, depending on which language the television is set to.
Chris Jo, head of the webOS Platform Business Center at LG’s Media Entertainment Solution Company, said the pairing gives fans new ways to engage with Masters of the Universe, adding that it empowers them to relive the excitement, energy and optimism that made the franchise iconic.
Creator Original Picture Mode is scheduled to roll out to eligible LG OLED evo sets by the end of July, with Masters of the Universe already streaming on Prime Video.
LG has not confirmed whether Creator Original Picture Mode will extend to other Prime Video titles beyond this launch, though the collaboration marks the companies’ latest step in tying premium TV hardware to blockbuster streaming releases.
