YouTube Premium is about to include Peacock for free

YouTube Premium is getting a notable new perk in the US, with Google confirming that Peacock Premium will be included at no extra cost from early 2027.

The move adds an $11-per-month streaming service to the existing subscription, making YouTube Premium a much stronger value proposition following its recent price increase.

The bundled plan includes Peacock Premium, the ad-supported tier that normally costs $11 a month or $110 annually. Subscribers who prefer an ad-free experience will also be able to upgrade to Peacock Premium Plus for an additional fee – though pricing for that upgrade has yet to be detailed.

The announcement comes just weeks after YouTube increased the price of Premium in the US to $16 per month for individual plans and $27 per month for family plans. Adding Peacock at no additional cost appears to be Google’s latest attempt to offset those higher subscription fees.

The free bundle might not arrive until early 2027, but YouTube users won’t have to wait too long to access Peacock through the platform. Google says Peacock Premium will become available as a paid add-on via YouTube Primetime Channels later this summer, joining the existing Peacock Premium Plus option that was added last month.

The expanded partnership stretches beyond on-demand streaming, too. Google and NBCUniversal say selected live sporting events will also be broadcast through the NBC Sports YouTube channel. As a result, viewers have another way to watch major events without leaving YouTube.

The companies also hinted that similar partnerships could reach international markets in the future. Planned bundles involving Universal+ and Hayu are in development for regions outside the US. However, Google hasn’t confirmed which countries will be first to receive them.

The timing also comes as Peacock reaches an important milestone. NBCUniversal recently revealed that the streaming service has posted its first-ever quarterly profit, six years after launch. Expanding distribution through YouTube could help the platform continue building its subscriber base while giving YouTube Premium another headline feature to attract and retain users.

For US subscribers already paying for YouTube Premium, the addition of Peacock Premium could remove the need for a separate streaming subscription, making the service a considerably better deal when the benefit rolls out in early 2027.
