Google has confirmed that the original Pixel Watch is still supported by the Google Health app. This comes after some owners were incorrectly warned that their watch would soon stop syncing sleep and workout data with the health-focused app.
The warning appeared in the Google Health app on Tuesday, essentially telling Pixel Watch 1 owners to update their wearable to keep using Google Health. The message claimed the watch was running an older version of Wear OS and warned that users would soon lose the ability to sync health data.
That message was incorrect. Google has since confirmed that the Pixel Watch 1 “remains fully supported”. The warning was caused by a bug that affected some users.
The error is particularly confusing because the Pixel Watch 1 has not received a software update for some time. Its last update arrived in October 2025, based on Wear OS 5.1 and Android 15, with the June 2025 security patch.
Over its lifetime, the original Pixel Watch has moved through several versions of Google’s smartwatch software. It launched with Wear OS 3.5 based on Android 11. Later, it received Wear OS 4 with Android 13. It also received Wear OS 5 with Android 14 and finally Wear OS 5.1 with Android 15.
Google had originally guaranteed the Pixel Watch three years of updates. This made the Health warning look particularly concerning for owners of the first-generation wearable. However, the company’s latest clarification confirms that the watch isn’t being cut off from Google Health.
That means Pixel Watch 1 owners can continue using Google Health to sync their sleep and workout data without needing to replace the watch.
