Every Disney Plus plan in the UK just got more expensive

Disney Plus is raising its subscription prices across all three plans in the UK, with customers facing increases of up to £2 per month. The changes have already taken effect, following a similar price hike in the US last month, although existing subscribers will have a little longer before paying more.

The biggest increase affects Disney Plus Standard, which rises from £9.99 to £11.99 per month. Meanwhile, Standard with Ads increases from £5.99 to £6.99, while the top-tier Premium plan goes from £14.99 to £15.99 per month. Annual subscriptions aren’t escaping the changes either, with Standard now costing £119.90 and Premium rising to £159.90, an extra £10 for each plan.

New subscribers will pay the updated prices immediately, while existing monthly customers won’t see the increase until 18 November. Those paying annually will move to the new pricing from 2 December, or when their current subscription expires if it’s later. Extra Member fees remain unchanged at £4.99 per month for Standard with Ads and £5.99 for both Standard and Premium.

There is some good news for anyone looking to avoid the higher prices, though. Disney is offering new and returning customers a six-month promotional deal, keeping Standard with Ads at £5.99 and Standard at £9.99 per month. Premium subscribers can get an even better discount, with the plan available for £11.99 per month during the promotional period, which is cheaper than its previous £14.99 price.

Another option is to check whether Disney Plus is included with your TV provider. Sky and Virgin Media both offer packages that bundle the streaming service with other subscriptions. For example, Sky’s Ultimate TV package starts at £24 per month and includes Disney Plus Standard with Ads alongside Netflix, HBO Max, Hayu and Discovery Plus, as well as access to additional TV channels.

Disney Plus hasn’t given subscribers much warning this time around, with the new prices arriving on the same day as the announcement. While annual plans still offer better value than paying monthly, the latest increase means subscribers will need to spend a little more to keep watching their favourite Disney, Marvel and Star Wars content.
