Dell has revealed its new XP3 13 laptop is back to its most accessible price point yet.
Unveiled at Computex, the XPS 13 is a redesigned model that’s the lightest XPS laptop to date – weighing just 1kg and measuring 12.75mm.
The £699 student entry price places the XPS 13 in direct competition with the recently launched MacBook Neo, Apple’s surprisingly affordable entry-level laptop designed for students and casual users alike.
Every configuration includes a 2.5K touchscreen with 100% DCI-P3 colour coverage, a backlit keyboard, Wi-Fi 7, USB-C, and quad speakers as standard, with no features gated behind higher-tier models as has been common across the broader laptop market.
The display uses variable refresh rate technology that adjusts automatically between 30Hz and 120Hz depending on on-screen content, a combination that contributes to the promised 17-hour streaming battery life rather than maintaining a fixed refresh rate regardless of workload. Of course, we’ll have to wait until we review the series before we can verify that claim.
However, perhaps most notably here is the inclusion of a touchscreen, something that Apple has avoided using on its MacBook series.

Processing is handled by Intel Core Series 3 processors at launch, with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 configurations arriving shortly after, and memory options extend to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM alongside up to 1TB of storage for buyers who need headroom beyond the base specification.
The chassis uses CNC-machined aluminium and ships in two finishes, Sky and Storm, with a dual-fan thermal architecture that Dell says keeps operating temperatures in check during sustained workloads despite the constrained internal dimensions the 12.75mm profile imposes.
Dell has also confirmed that the XPS 13 will reach Dell.com and select retail partners later this summer, with additional retail listings and full pricing details expected closer to the launch window.
