It’s tradition for Beats to rather show off an unreleased product in plain sight by having celebrities tease their upcoming products, and it looks like a new one is about to hit the market soon.
In the past we’ve seen LeBron James with new Powerbeats headphones, Daniel Ricciardo with wireless speakers and the Kardashians sporting some true wireless buds. This time, Beats by Dre ambassador Lamine Yamal has been ‘spotted’ on his Instagram with a pair of unreleased Beats headphones, and it might possibly be a new version of the Studio Pro.
These headphones are in a rather distinctive pink, suggesting they’ll be a few colours available whenever it’s launched, but aside from that, we don’t know much about what these new Beat over-ear headphones could entail.
There have been rumours about a recent FCC database filing ‘leaking’ for an Apple or Beats product numbered A3577 – ‘Bluetooth over-ear headphones’. We know it won’t be for Apple considering they (surprisingly) launched the AirPods Max 2 earlier this year, so it points to these being a new pair of Beats, and we suspect they’re a sequel the Studio Pro.
We gave the Studio Pro four stars back in 2023, but three years is a long and plenty can changed in the headphone market. If these are the Studio Pro 2, we’re hoping they can improve in terms of build quality, design, and noise cancellation as we felt that the quality of the construction wasn’t quite premium, the design better suited for smaller heads and the noise cancellation did suffer from some wind noise.
An upgrade in these areas, along with improvements elsewhere, could make these a pair of headphones to keep a look out for. But for now, they’re just a pair of rumoured headphones.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on further news for these Beats over-ears in the coming weeks and months.
