Audio-Technica has unveiled a new pair of limited-edition headphones that borrow more from the world of guitars than traditional headphone design.
The ATH-WP900SE are the latest addition to the company’s long-running wooden headphone range. However, this time Audio-Technica has teamed up with Japanese guitar maker Fujigen to create something that feels as much like a collector’s item as a listening device.
The most eye-catching detail is the 3-tone sunburst finish, a look instantly familiar to anyone who’s spent time around classic electric guitars. Each pair features solid ash wooden housings finished using techniques inspired by guitar craftsmanship. Furthermore, Fujigen was involved throughout the production process from wood selection through to the final lacquer coating.
It’s not just about looks, though. Audio-Technica says the ATH-WP900SE features newly developed 53mm drivers and a redesigned voice coil aimed at delivering more detailed, high-resolution audio; specifically tuning the sound profile to bring out the character of stringed instruments.
The result are a pair of headphones that are a particularly interesting prospect for acoustic, jazz and guitar-led recordings.

The ATH-WP900SE is intended to remain relatively portable use. The company paired the lightweight design with detachable cables that use its A2DC connectors. It also includes both a balanced 4.4mm cable and a standard 3.5mm option in the box.
The Fujigen connection continues beyond the headphones with each unit shipping with a dedicated cleaning cloth designed for the lacquered finish. The headphones also come with a handwritten serial number card that reinforces the limited-edition nature of the release.
The Audio-Technica ATH-WP900SE will be available from 11 June 2026, priced at £599 in the UK.
