Whoop improves women’s health offering with Natural Cycles integration

Whoop is expanding its women’s health platform by partnering with Natural Cycles, with members getting a free year of the FDA-cleared fertility and birth control app as part of their subscription.

The integration allows compatible Whoop wearables to automatically share overnight skin temperature data with the Natural Cycles app. This removes the need for manual temperature tracking while enabling personalised fertility insights. The feature is available now for users with Whoop MG and Whoop 5.0 devices.

As part of the partnership, new Natural Cycles users who are eligible through their Whoop membership will receive a 12-month subscription to the app at no extra cost. Natural Cycles is currently the only FDA-cleared hormone-free birth control app. It uses physiological data such as skin temperature and heart rate to identify fertile and non-fertile days.

The app goes beyond contraception, too. It also offers dedicated modes for pregnancy planning, pregnancy, postpartum recovery and perimenopause. This gives users reproductive health insights across different stages of life.

The announcement marks the latest expansion of Whoop’s health-focused features as the company looks beyond fitness and athletic performance. According to Whoop, women represent one of its fastest-growing user groups, with female membership increasing 111% year over year.

“By integrating with the NC° app, we are providing our members with a seamless way to access personalised reproductive health insights, expanding WHOOP beyond performance into everyday health,” said Dr Ami Bhatt, Whoop’s Chief Medical Officer.

Natural Cycles says the partnership is designed to make hormone-free birth control easier for existing wearable users. Rather than taking daily temperature readings manually, compatible Whoop devices automatically capture overnight skin temperature and send the data to the app. The app then determines the user’s daily fertility status.

Alongside the new integration, both companies emphasised that sensitive health information will continue to be handled under their existing privacy and security standards.

The partnership reflects a broader trend of wearable makers investing more heavily in women’s health features. Rather than simply tracking activity or sleep, devices are increasingly being used to deliver reproductive health insights. With Whoop’s latest integration, clinically validated fertility tracking is brought directly into its growing health ecosystem.

The Whoop MG is a great leap forward for Whoop with longer battery life, better accuracy and all-new metrics to monitor, and provides great insight as a result. However, it’s yearly subscription much more expensive than the already-premium Whoop 4, making the Whoop 5 a solid alternative if you don’t care for inferred blood pressure monitoring or ECG capabilities.

Pros

Long battery life

Discreet and comfortable to wear

Impressively in-depth data analysis

Accurate health and fitness tracking capabilities

Cons

Very expensive, and only available as a subscription

Exercise metrics are surprisingly basic

Whoop 4 accessories aren’t compatible
