Samsung’s stable One UI 9 update is rolling out to more Galaxy S26 phones in the US, bringing Android 17 and a sizeable list of new features and fixes.
Samsung has officially listed stable One UI 9 builds for the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus and S26 Ultra on T-Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile and US Cellular. The US firmware carries build number S94xUSQU4BZID and includes the September 5, 2026 security patch.
Unlocked phones are also starting to see the update. One reported Galaxy S26 Ultra unlocked model received firmware S948U1UEU4BZID as a 644.92MB download. That relatively small file suggests it may be aimed at people moving from the final One UI 9 beta to the stable release, rather than those coming directly from One UI 8.5. The update notification also confirms that the beta programme has ended.
Samsung hasn’t yet published equivalent listings confirming a broad rollout for AT&T, Verizon or unlocked models, so availability will still depend on your particular phone and carrier.
Here’s the changelog
The bigger story is the changelog. One UI 9 adds several Galaxy AI features, including an expanded Now nudge that can suggest actions from conversation notifications and a floating button. My FanCam can automatically follow a selected person in a video, while Interpreter’s conversation mode now lets you scroll through previous parts of a conversation while continuing to talk.
Samsung Health also gets a substantial makeover, with redesigned charts, a customisable home screen and quicker ways to log information. New features include trend analysis, sleep-vitals tracking, a daily heart-health score, cardio-load tracking, a Fitness Index and a hearing tracker.
There are plenty of smaller changes, too. The Quick Panel is more customisable, Bixby can be activated by raising the phone towards your mouth, and a new privacy indicator shows when an app accesses your location. Samsung is also adding AI-powered privacy alerts and warnings about potentially risky apps and permissions.
Accessibility gets several additions, including Text spotlight, Select to speak and new physical keyboard and mouse-key controls. The update also brings a redesigned lock-screen clock and some useful Samsung DeX improvements for moving windows between desktops and switching between desktop views.
The rollout is happening in phases over the coming week, so don’t be surprised if One UI 9 hasn’t appeared on your Galaxy S26 just yet.
