Amazfit’s new smartwatch could be an endurance king

Amazfit has launched the Bip Max, a new entry-level smartwatch that extends its predecessor’s battery life by six days while keeping the retail price below £100 in the UK.

The Bip Max arrives roughly 14 months after the Bip 6. The most significant change is the shift from a 350mAh to a 550mAh battery, which Amazfit says delivers up to 20 days of runtime under typical use conditions.

That endurance figure places the Bip Max in a category where most comparably priced smartwatches struggle to reach a week. As a result, battery life is the clearest differentiator for consumers weighing up the sub-£100 segment.

Beyond battery life, the Bip Max introduces a series of hardware refinements over the Bip 6. These collectively push it closer to mid-range wearable territory without a corresponding price increase.

The display has also grown from the 1.97-inch panel on the Bip 6 to a 2.07-inch AMOLED screen. It is rated at up to 3,000 nits, a brightness level that puts it well ahead of many entry-level wearables and is particularly important when used outdoors in direct sunlight.

Internal storage marks another substantial upgrade, with the Bip Max replacing the Bip 6’s 512MB NAND Flash with 4GB eMMC. This change gives the ZeppOS 5.0 operating system considerably more headroom for maps, apps, and locally stored data.

The watch offers a range of fitness-tracking tools for runners and outdoor users. These include a race predictor, an HRV app, a Hybrid Training mode, and a dedicated sleep tracking algorithm.

Navigation support includes both online and offline maps with route planning. In addition, the Bip Max integrates with third-party training platforms TrainingPeaks, Runna, and Intervals.icu, which broadens its appeal to users already embedded in structured training programmes.

The Amazfit Bip Max is available now starting at £99.90/$99.90/€99.90 through regional Amazfit storefronts.
