Garmin has pushed out another beta software update for its flagship smartwatches. While this one is more about fixing problems than adding flashy new features, it’s probably still welcome news for Fenix owners.
The company has started rolling out Beta Version 22.34 globally for several premium models, including the Fenix 8 lineup. The update mainly focuses on “various bug fixes and improvements” with Garming staying quiet on many details about what it patched this time around.
That might sound a little vague, but it also hints that Garmin could be getting close to a wider stable release. The company has been moving unusually quickly through beta updates this month, jumping from Version 22.28 in early May to 22.29, then to 22.32, and now to 22.34 in just a matter of weeks.

In other words, this looks less like a feature-packed beta cycle and more like Garmin tidying things up before a full public rollout.
The update is currently available for smartwatches enrolled in Garmin’s Beta Program. Users can either wait for the download to appear automatically or manually check by going to Settings > System > Software Update.
There is one small catch though. As with previous beta releases, Garmin has temporarily disabled Dive and ECG features in Version 22.34. That’s fairly standard during beta testing, but it does suggest the software still isn’t quite ready for a stable release just yet.
Still, Garmin’s rapid update cadence has become one of the company’s biggest strengths lately. This is especially true compared to some smartwatch rivals that can leave bugs hanging around for months. Even smaller fixes tend to matter more on fitness watches too. This is particularly true when users rely on them daily for GPS tracking, workouts, sleep monitoring, and health features.
While Garmin hasn’t confirmed when the final v22.xx stable update will arrive, the pace of recent releases suggests it probably isn’t too far away. Whether that lands before June is another question entirely. At this point, it certainly feels like Garmin is in the final stretch of testing.
