Audio Technica’s new earplugs are the perfect partner for music festivals

Audio-Technica is best known for headphones and turntables, but its latest products are aimed at protecting your hearing instead.

The company has announced two new earplugs. Of these, the AT-ERP5 stands out as an appealing option for concertgoers and festival fans.

Designed specifically for live music, the AT-ERP5 promises to lower volume levels without sacrificing the sound quality that makes gigs worth attending in the first place.

However, unlike traditional foam earplugs that can leave music sounding muffled, Audio-Technica says its new model uses dual-layer filtering dampers and specially designed eartips. As a result, these features reduce sound evenly across frequencies, preserving clarity and balance.

The result is a gentler listening experience that still captures the atmosphere and energy of a live performance. The earplugs offer an SNR rating of 21dB and meet both EN and ANSI hearing protection standards. As a result, festival goers get some extra protection.

Audio-Technica has also paid attention to the design. The AT-ERP5 features metallic accents and an accessory-like finish, making it a little more stylish than the average pair of earplugs. A secure fit aims to keep them in place during active performances. They’re made from soft silicone too, which should make them comfortable enough to wear for a while.

Alongside the AT-ERP5, Audio-Technica is launching the AT-ERP3, a more everyday-focused option aimed at reducing background noise in offices, cafés and on public transport. That model offers a higher 26dB SNR rating and uses high-isolation antibacterial eartips. These features help create a quieter environment for work or travel.

Both models share a compact carrying case, soft silicone construction and compliance with international hearing protection standards.

The AT-ERP5 will be available from 16 June 2026 for £22, while the AT-ERP3 will launch on the same date for £17.50.
