Xiaomi ends software support for more Poco, Redmi, and Xiaomi phones

More Xiaomi phones have officially reached the end of the road, as the company updates its End‑of‑Life (EOL) list. Several Xiaomi, Poco and Redmi devices will no longer receive software updates, security patches or bug fixes.

The latest additions include some of Xiaomi’s best-known smartphones from the past few years. These include the Xiaomi 12Xiaomi 12 Pro and the China-exclusive Xiaomi 12S Ultra. Several Redmi and Poco devices have also joined the list, meaning support has now officially come to an end.

Once a device is added to Xiaomi’s EOL list, it won’t receive future Android or HyperOS updates, new features, performance improvements or security patches. The phones will continue to work as normal, but any newly discovered security vulnerabilities are unlikely to be addressed going forward.

The Redmi lineup isn’t unaffected either. Xiaomi has added the Redmi Note 12T Pro, Redmi K60E and the Redmi 10 5G (EEA) to the EOL list alongside regional variants of the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro.

For many of these devices, the announcement won’t come as a complete surprise. Several had already received the final major Android update promised under Xiaomi’s software support policy, with only security updates remaining. The latest change simply marks the point where all official software support comes to an end.

If you’re still using one of the affected devices, there’s no immediate need to replace it. However, losing security updates is a more significant issue than missing out on new features if you rely on your phone for banking, work or storing sensitive data.

While Xiaomi regularly refreshes its End-of-Life list as devices age out of support, this latest update covers a broad mix of former flagship, mid-range and tablet models. If your device appears on the list, it may be worth considering an upgrade before unsupported software becomes a bigger security risk.
