Technics has unveiled a new limited-edition version of its EAH-AZ100 true wireless earbuds, created in collaboration with The Rolling Stones. This launch celebrates the band’s latest album, Foreign Tongues.
Limited to 5,000 pairs worldwide, the special edition combines the same premium audio hardware found in the standard AZ100. In addition, it features exclusive Rolling Stones-inspired accessories and collector’s packaging.
The collaboration arrives alongside Foreign Tongues, which was released earlier this month. Technics is positioning the earbuds as the ideal way to experience the band’s latest record.
Rather than changing the earbuds themselves, Technics has focused on the presentation. Each pair ships in a bespoke gift box and includes an exclusive rubber protective case embossed with the band’s instantly recognisable Lips & Tongue logo. Additionally, every unit is individually numbered, with a laser-engraved serial number ranging from 0001 to 5000 on the charging case.
Collectors won’t be able to choose their serial number. Although this is the case, Technics suggests some buyers may end up with numbers that coincide with memorable dates from the band’s history.
The earbuds themselves remain unchanged from the original EAH-AZ100. They continue to use Technics’ Magnetic Fluid Driver technology. According to the company, this technology reduces distortion while delivering tighter bass, clearer vocals and greater detail across the frequency range.
That driver remains one of the AZ100’s standout features. Technics describes it as the first implementation of its kind in a pair of true wireless earbuds.
The collaboration feels like a natural fit. Foreign Tongues was recorded at Metropolis Studios in London. Furthermore, Technics says the earbuds are designed to reproduce every detail of the recording exactly as intended.
The EAH-AZ100 Rolling Stones Limited Edition will be sold exclusively online and is priced at £259 / €299.
