Beyerdynamic has introduced two new wireless gaming headsets in the MMX 100 wireless and MMX 130 wireless.
The two models split Beyerdynamic’s gaming range along a classic audio divide, with the closed-back MMX 100 wireless built for isolation and the open-back MMX 130 wireless built for a wider, more natural soundstage.
The MMX 100 wireless reduces ambient noise and sound leakage through its closed-back construction, an approach that suits busy rooms, LAN events, and fast-paced multiplayer sessions where clear team communication depends on blocking out surrounding distractions.
By contrast, the open-back MMX 130 wireless lets in sound and produces a spacious presentation that suits atmospheric, story-driven games and quieter environments where situational awareness matters more than total isolation.
Matthias Heilig, Beyerdynamic’s Product Marketing Manager for Gaming, described the pairing as bringing “real Beyerdynamic audio DNA to gamers, whether they want fully focused isolation or an open, natural soundstage,” and said the team prioritised accurate sound, all-day comfort, and long-term durability.
Both headsets share a precisely tuned 40mm driver, with the MMX 130 wireless adding a titanium coating for extra performance, and both connect across PC, console, smartphone and handheld through Bluetooth 6.0, a low-latency USB-C dongle, and an included analogue cable that keeps latency under 30 milliseconds in dongle mode.
The detachable META VOICE microphone handles in-game communication. Both headsets pair soft velour ear pads with more than 80 hours of battery life, and aluminium sliders, stainless steel hinges, a replaceable battery, and replaceable ear and headband pads support long-term durability.
Both models also fold flat for travel and use magnetic earpads for tool-free swapping, while full integration with the Beyerdynamic app adds control over EQ, auto-shutdown, voice assistant, and voice prompt settings.
Both models arrive in Black and Arctic White and each ship with the META VOICE microphone, a USB-C low-latency dongle, a USB-A to USB-C adapter, two USB cables, and a compliance booklet that rounds out a package reflecting Beyerdynamic’s decades of studio and audio engineering experience.
The MMX 100 wireless will be available in September 2026 for $149.99, and the MMX 130 wireless will follow in October 2026 for $179.99, with UK pricing and availability yet to be confirmed.
Beyerdynamic will give the MMX 100 wireless its public debut at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne.
