Nintendo has confirmed its next Indie World Showcase for October 28, giving Switch and Switch 2 owners another look at upcoming indie games.
The presentation will begin at 10am ET (2pm GMT) and run for approximately 15 minutes, with announcements focused on titles heading to both consoles.
Unlike a traditional Nintendo Direct, which often features major first-party releases, the Indie World Showcase puts smaller independent developers in the spotlight.
Nintendo hasn’t revealed which games will appear this time around, but viewers can expect a mix of new announcements and updates on previously revealed titles. The event will be streamed on Nintendo’s official YouTube channel, making it easy to follow the announcements as they happen.
While 15 minutes might not sound like much, Nintendo has managed to fit several notable announcements into similarly short presentations. Its previous Indie World Showcase in March also lasted around 15 minutes and featured games including Denshattack, Minishoot’ Adventures, Blue Prince and Mixtape. That gives us a reasonable idea of what to expect from the upcoming event, although Nintendo has yet to confirm whether any of those titles will make another appearance.
The showcase also arrives ahead of next week’s release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, giving Nintendo another opportunity to highlight its growing Switch and Switch 2 libraries. With both consoles included in the presentation, it’ll be interesting to see which upcoming indie releases are heading to the newer hardware and which will remain available on the original Switch.
As of now, Nintendo is keeping the lineup under wraps, so we’ll have to wait until the presentation to see what’s coming. But if March’s showcase is anything to go by, even a 15-minute event could bring a few worthwhile additions to the Switch library.
