Samsung is expanding its Android 17-based One UI 9 Beta program to more Galaxy devices, giving owners of several recent phones and foldables an early look at the company’s next software update.
The beta is now available in India, South Korea, the US and the UK for the Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S25 FE. Samsung first opened the One UI 9 Beta program for the Galaxy S26 series in May, making this the next major expansion of the testing programme.
Owners of the eligible devices can sign up through the Samsung Members app. As with any beta software, it’s worth keeping in mind that the build is still being tested and may include bugs or unfinished features, so it’s probably best avoided on a phone you rely on every day.
The Galaxy S25 series is also getting its first One UI 9 Beta update as part of the expansion. Samsung has already made the beta available for some S25 devices in India, with the wider rollout now bringing more models and regions into the programme.
One notable omission is the Galaxy S25 Edge. Samsung’s announcement doesn’t list the slim flagship among the devices eligible for the beta, so it’s currently unclear whether the phone will join the testing programme later or skip the beta and receive the stable One UI 9 release directly.
One UI 9 is based on Android 17 and will eventually bring Samsung’s latest software changes to supported Galaxy devices. However, Samsung hasn’t detailed all of the features coming with the new version in this announcement, so the beta programme is likely to reveal more as testing progresses.
For Galaxy owners with one of the newly eligible devices, the process is straightforward. Open the Samsung Members app, look for the One UI 9 Beta programme and follow the instructions to enrol. Once accepted, the beta update should become available through the phone’s software update settings.
With the beta now reaching Samsung’s 2025 phones and foldables, the company is moving One UI 9 beyond its latest Galaxy S26 series and giving more users a chance to test Android 17 ahead of the wider release.
