Adobe has reworked some of its biggest creative apps to take advantage of Nvidia’s new RTX Spark platform, promising up to twice the performance across AI-powered tasks and editing workflows.
The company has redesigned Photoshop, Premiere and Substance 3D to run more efficiently on RTX Spark-powered computers. The platform uses Nvidia’s new system-on-chip (SoC), designed to bring powerful AI processing directly to Windows laptops and compact desktops without relying as heavily on cloud-based services.
According to Adobe VP Deepa Subramaniam, the changes could deliver up to 2x faster performance across AI tasks and creative workflows. For Photoshop users, that means a more responsive editing experience, particularly when working with complex projects. The company says changes can now appear in real time, including when applying Light Leaks effects or removing unwanted objects using the Remove tool.
Premiere is getting similar improvements, with faster rendering, effects processing, AI-assisted editing and colour grading. These upgrades should be particularly useful for video editors working with demanding footage, where processing delays can interrupt an otherwise straightforward editing session.
Meanwhile, Substance 3D Painter has been optimised to handle heavier texturing workloads, alongside faster opening and saving of large projects and texture exports.
The move also highlights Nvidia’s push to bring local AI processing to a wider audience. Unlike the company’s DGX Spark platform, which primarily targets businesses and AI developers, RTX Spark is aimed more directly at creatives and less experienced developers who want powerful AI tools without a traditional workstation setup.
Adobe hasn’t provided individual performance figures for each application, so it’s unclear how much faster every task will be in practice. Still, the optimisations could make a noticeable difference for photographers, video editors and 3D artists using RTX Spark hardware, particularly when handling complex projects or AI-heavy workflows.
