Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra could feature a noticeably thicker camera bump and slightly slimmer display bezels, according to a new leak revealing more details about the company’s next flagship smartphone.
Reliable tipster Ice Universe claims Samsung is making changes to both the front and back of the Galaxy S27 Ultra, although the differences may be smaller than expected.
The display bezels are reportedly shrinking to 1.28mm, around 0.4mm thinner than those on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. While that’s an improvement, it’s unlikely to make a dramatic difference to how the phone looks.
The change also suggests Samsung is still playing catch-up with some of its Chinese rivals. Devices such as the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max have reportedly pushed their display bezels down to around 0.99mm.
However, the Galaxy S27 Ultra is also expected to introduce new AMOLED display material, which could prove to be a more meaningful upgrade than the slimmer borders alone.
Meanwhile, the camera bump appears to be getting thicker. Earlier CAD-based leaks from @OnLeaks suggested the Galaxy S27 Ultra would measure 7.97mm thick, with a 4.56mm camera protrusion bringing the total thickness to 12.53mm. Ice Universe now claims the camera bump will measure 4.69mm, making it approximately 0.13mm thicker than previously expected.
The extra thickness could be linked to Samsung’s rumoured camera improvements. Previous leaks suggest the Galaxy S27 Ultra will feature a new ISOCELL HP6 main sensor, which is expected to retain the same 1/1.28-inch sensor size as its predecessor but could require additional space inside the camera module.
A larger battery is also reportedly being considered for the 2027 flagship, although its capacity remains unknown.
For now, these details remain unconfirmed, and Samsung has yet to reveal anything official about the Galaxy S27 Ultra. Still, the latest leaks suggest the company is prioritising camera hardware and display refinements rather than making major changes to the phone’s overall design.
