Samsung has started rolling out its Android 17-based One UI 9 update to another eight Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S23 series and its fifth-generation foldables. The latest expansion brings the software to more of the company’s older flagship phones, alongside several mid-range Galaxy A models.
The latest batch includes the Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. The Galaxy A56, A36 and A27 are also receiving the update, bringing the total number of supported devices running the stable version of One UI 9 to around 20.
The rollout follows Samsung’s initial wave of Android 17 updates, which reached roughly a dozen Galaxy devices last week. While One UI 9 isn’t expected to introduce major changes to the overall user experience, it brings Samsung’s devices onto the latest version of Android, making it a worthwhile update for users holding onto older models.
For now, the update is rolling out in South Korea, with availability varying depending on the device. Galaxy S23 owners who previously enrolled in the One UI 9 beta programme are among the first to receive the stable release, while the rollout process differs slightly for other models.
Samsung typically expands major software updates to additional markets shortly after their initial release, so users outside South Korea may not have too long to wait. However, the company hasn’t confirmed an exact international rollout schedule for this latest batch.
The arrival of One UI 9 on the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 is another sign that Samsung is steadily working through its existing smartphone lineup rather than limiting Android 17 to its newest devices. With eight more models now joining the rollout, the update is becoming available to a much wider range of Galaxy owners.
