Tag Heuer has reportedly stopped producing its Connected smartwatches, potentially bringing an end to its decade-long attempt to compete in the smartwatch market.
According to French publication La Lettre, production of the Connected series ended during the summer of 2026, with existing inventory expected to remain on sale until the end of 2027.
Neither Tag Heuer nor its parent company LVMH has officially confirmed the decision, although the report suggests the brand is preparing to quietly exit the smartwatch business.
The news comes less than a year after Tag Heuer launched the Connected Calibre E5 in October 2025. The watch marked a significant change for the lineup, replacing Google’s Wear OS with the company’s own Tag Heuer OS.
Available in 40mm and 45mm sizes, it also received Apple’s Made for iPhone certification, reflecting the company’s claim that around 70% of its smartwatch customers use iPhones.
TAG Heuer continued expanding the range as recently as March 2026, introducing a titanium Formula 1 edition with 24 race track-inspired watch faces and a dedicated F1 app. That makes the reported decision particularly surprising, given how recently the company invested in new software and hardware.
The Connected series first launched in November 2015, following a partnership with Intel and Google. Its original $1500 smartwatch ran Android Wear and positioned itself as a luxury alternative to mainstream wearables.
For existing Connected owners, the biggest concern is what happens to software support and after-sales servicing. Tag Heuer has yet to clarify how long it intends to maintain either, particularly following its move to an in-house operating system.
For now, the Connected Calibre E5 remains listed in TAG Heuer’s catalogue, but if the reports prove accurate, it could be the last smartwatch the Swiss luxury brand ever makes.
